Girl Talk - Feed the Animals

Grade: B+
by Neil Evans

Gregg Gillis, the DJ known as Girl Talk, obviously doesn't really care about much besides partying and having a good time. And that's refreshing. On Feed the Animals, Gillis serves up some of the hottest and most recognizable mash-ups of classic tracks and new-school bangers.

It's hard to describe specific tracks on Feed the Animals because the album is best listened to in its entirety, front to back, where tracks don't matter and the beats bump non-stop into one another. Citing fair use for his ability to sample nearly every artist from Lil' Wayne, Metallica, Outkast, Big Country, Tag Team and Journey, Gillis will probably piss all groups featured on his album by making Feed the Animals available to download on his site with the 'pay what you want' model made popular by Radiohead early this year.

Naturally, I downloaded for free and have no regrets. Feed the Animals is so good that I am now considering actually purchasing Girl Talk's previous release Night Ripper, which is supposed to be superior. Download the album HERE and rock the soundtrack to your next house party.
