The Publick House

Brookline, MA

While the food is hearty and authentic, it's all about the beer at The Publick House in Brookline, MA. The beer lists is extensive and chances are you won't recognize one name on the list. Specializing on imports and domestics that offer bold flavors and high alcohol content, you could say that The Publick House is only for beer snobs but really, is it snobby to prefer excellent crafted brews over watered down popular light beer? I think not. Call me a snob but life is too short to drink cheap beer.

The place gets crowded with loyal patrons so get there early in the night. Waitress aren't there to hold your hand when selecting a beer so do your homework and know what you like to drink before walking in the door. I recommend any double I.P.A. or hefeweizen. Again, the Irish-influenced menu of stews and rustic cuisine is solid and tastes even better being washed down with some of the best beers in the Boston area.
